If anyone is having problems with the BMW M5 F10 S63T motor than you are probably doing maintenance at the time the car is having issues or most likely changing the oil every 8K miles per dealer recommendation. For the type of people that like to run the car until it breaks down, maybe a Toyota is what you should be looking at purchasing!

Mazda won because others broke down. The 787B wasn't a great racecar comparatively speaking. The wankle engines drink so much fuel that they quickly became unfeasible. The 787B still sounds great though.

I own a Ford Falcon XR6 which has the N/A Barra, I love these engines they are mighty reliable, I recently took my wife on a 2 month long road trip around Australia and travelled a total of 11,000km without any issues.

So many flaws on this engine. No wonder it didn't succeed. Amazing how engineers don't understand physics. If they had added a 4th crankshaft and the same amount of pistons and cylinders with each other crankshaft rotation opposed, harmonics would have reduced and designed the gear box to delegate control load across all crankshafts time between overhauls would have increased 10x with a few lubrication modifications.
